I'm sure that everyone knows Jeremy Lin by now. You must be wondering why does an NBA player have a spot in a blog totally about food!!! That's because Ben & Jerry's has this flavour:

OMG!! Jeremy Lin has his own flavour of Ice cream!! How cool is that!!

Taste the Lin - Sanity is a limited release at Harvard Square Scoop Shop. Its a vanilla frozen yogurt with lychee honey swirls and a waffle cookie that can be used for dipping or be used as a crushed topping. However, due to backlash from the asian community over the choice of fortune cookies in the mix, Ben and Jerry's has since changed it to waffles and issued an official apology:

“On behalf of Ben & Jerry’s Boston Scoop Shops we offer a heartfelt apology if anyone was offended by our handmade Linsanity flavor that we offered at our Harvard Square location. We are proud and honored to have Jeremy Lin hail from one of our fine, local universities and we are huge sports fans,” Ben & Jerry’s officials posted on the company’s local Twitter and Facebook pages. “We were swept up in the nationwide Linsanity momentum. Our intention was to create a flavor to honor Jeremy Lin’s accomplishments and his meteoric rise in the NBA, and recognize that he was a local Harvard graduate. We try demonstrate our commitment as a Boston-based, valued-led business and if we failed in this instance we offer our sincere apologies.”

Sounds delicious nonetheless!! If only those Ben & Jerry's in Singapore carry this! Im sure to try it! How about you?
